Charles W. Brashares was born March 31, 1891 at Williamsport, Ohio. He attended Ohio Wesleyan, Boston University, Harvard and Cornell, receiving degrees of A.B., D.D., LL.D. He was ordained in the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1917 and served as pastor in Massachusetts, Maine, Ohio, and Michigan from 1917 to 1944. He served in Ann Arbor from 1934 to 1944.
